The Vicksburg Quilt Trail of the Historical Society has a new quilt block. But this one is not on a barn. It’s a garden quilt planted by Prudential Nursery owners Charlie and Cindy Krill. Begonias, marigolds and wave petunias create this traditional quilt block called “Geometry.”
Prudential Nursery is across from the new Community Pavilion and is celebrating 100 years of business. It will be the subject of the Vicksburg Historical Society’s July meeting, along with a tour of the building.
To the left of their front door stands a magnificent Red Buckeye (Chestnut) tree that was designated a National Champion back in 1983. Imagine how much it has grown since then. It was planted by the Krill family about the time the building was built.
Stop by Prudential for your landscaping needs and watch their garden quilt burst into full bloom this summer. Then, take a trip on the Quilt Trail itself. Maps are available at most any store in Vicksburg.
