Second grade students from Melissa Jamerson’s Indian Lake School classroom, were treated to a tour of the Vicksburg Historic Village recently. The trip was a culmination of their social studies unit about communities long ago in comparison with today’s communities. They visited the one room schoolhouse, the print shop, train depot, caboose, village garage, and ended up at the township hall. This Historic Village is meant to represent life as it was between 1904 and 1932 when rural electrification came to the Vicksburg area.
