Spieldenner Named Player of the Year

Ben Spieldenner, 2012 Vicksburg High School (VHS) graduate, received post season honors at Kellogg Community College.  The sophomore pitcher was named the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Player of the Year.

Spieldenner, who was also named first team All-MCCAA, finished the season with nine wins, two saves and a 1.37 ERA with 42 strikeouts.   Also, as an outfielder/designated hitter, he hit .257, scored 27 runs, 2 HR, with 22 RBIs and had nine stolen bases.

Spieldenner graduated with high honors this spring from Kellogg with an Associate of Arts Degree.  In the fall, he will continue his education and playing career at St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN, where he will major in business administration and play on the school’s NCAA Division 2 baseball team.

His brother, Brad, a 2014 VHS graduate, will attend Kellogg Community College this fall on an athletic scholarship.
