Sting, a non-profit, all-volunteer select travel soccer club, has found success in its youngest squad, as their U9 boys (under 9 years of age) placed first in three tournaments this season including the Holland Memorial Day Tournament, The Portage Classic, and a third one out of town.

They also finished second in two other tournaments and currently lead the West Michigan Youth Soccer Association (WMYSA).

“We are playing in the ‘A’ division for U9 boys, which is the highest we can play at this age group,” said Coach Michael Johnson. “This group has only been playing together since the fall of 2013. We are a small, but growing, club by WMYSA standards and this makes the boys’ accomplishments that much greater when viewed in this context.”

Sting has been developing young, local soccer talent since 1995.
