The Schoolcraft Community Library (SCL) is eager to provide help and reading assistance for students of all ages. Whether they are just starting school for the first time and need a little encouragement, or starting to play a new sport at school, or just want a good read, the staff at SCL is ready and willing to help.

Michigan Boys in Blue Presentation
And for grown-ups who are eager to continue to “learn”, the Library has joined together with the Schoolcraft Historical Society and the Ladies Library Association to bring an exciting program called MICHIGAN BOYS IN BLUE featuring archivist John Urschel. John has done extensive research on the Michigan contribution to the Civil War, and also has interesting news about a local Schoolcraft man—Orlando Moore—who made a virtually unknown but significant contribution to the Civil War. Come and enjoy tasty refreshments and a stirring presentation on Tuesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. at the Schoolcraft Community Library’s Bob Crissman Community Room.
Photography Exhibit
The Library is beginning its next art series with photographer Pat Pawlak’s unique and stunning photography on display beginning with an Open House on Wednesday, September 10 from 5 – 7 p.m. Pat was a Schoolcraft fifth grade teacher for many years who, upon retirement, took up a much loved pastime. Pawlak’s lovely images will be displayed throughout the library. This exhibit will run until November 1.
