One morning in August, a group of 18 dedicated quilters from Allegan boarded a bus for the drive to Vicksburg for the self-guided tour of half of the 24 barns that are featured on the Vicksburg Quilt Trail. They had lunch at the Main Street Pub where Kitch and Hugh Rinehart presented a slide show of the barn quilts in the making. They spent another 45 minutes shopping the stores downtown and finished the afternoon touring the remainder of the trail.
