Vicksburg’s Bulldogs football team has some seasoned veterans to call on this year, with quarterback Dalton Ketelaar on his second year of leading the team. He beat Hunter Van for the position according to Coach Tom Marchese, who now has turned into a fine receiver. He was able to put it behind him and has really helped the team, the coach said.
“We have three seniors off the baseball team who just wanted to play as a unit with their pals. They will help us a lot, plus we have some transfers from Loy Norrix to add some depth. They transferred the last semester so are eligible to play now,” Marchese noted.
A tough middle stretch on the schedule occurs when the Bulldogs take on Edwardsburg, Paw Paw, and Plainwell, all projected to be playoff teams, he said. “This team has the right mentality, they had a taste of winning with the baseball team that was very good, and that should transfer to football. They are hungry and will compete [well] every Friday night.”
