He began working in Michigan schools in 1990 as a math teacher and computer coordinator in
Belding. He continued his career in other districts as a math teacher, technology facilitator and school Improvement chair. He served as an elementary principal in Bronson from 2006 and in 2008 he became high school principal. Since 2010 he has served students in the Kalamazoo Public Schools as the Director of School Improvement and Assessment. Seager resides with his wife and four children in Kalamazoo.
