9/6 – Sun. Gospel concert, Dan Grentz & Hickory Switch at Kline’s Resort, 6:30 p.m. at the lakefront.

9/7 – Mon. All-U-Care-To-Eat Pancake Breakfast served from 8 – 10 a.m. at Kline’s Resort Clubhouse. Call 269-649-2514 for information.

9/12 – Sat. Scotts United Methodist Church Rummage Sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Alcott St., in Scotts behind the Community Center. Many new items including homemade baked goods and Christmas tree. Call 269-649-0659 for information.

9/12 – Sat. Community Yard Sales, Kline’s Resort, 8 – 1 p.m. at the clubhouse.

9/13 – Sun. Kids Hope Pig Roast, Lakeland Reformed Church, Sprinkle Rd., 11 a.m. The public is cordially invited and do not need to be a member of the Church.

9/15 – Tues. The Western Jazz Quartet, at the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center, 8 p.m. Free.

9/18 – Fri. American Red Cross Blood Drive, Vicksburg United Methodist Church, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

9/19 – Sat. September 19: Shopalooza! Klines Resort’s clubhouse 8 to noon. Over a dozen unique vendors will have items on display. Gift drawings, coffee & doughnuts, and more!  Event supports the Carers & Sharers of Klines Resort.

9/19 – Sat. Lions Club Golf Scramble, 2 p.m. at States golf course.

9/25 – Fri. Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center, Grand Opening, 200 S. Main St., 5-7 p.m. The public is cordially invited.

9/25 – Fri. Vicksburg High School Band Boosters Car Raffle drawing at the Homecoming football game.

9/25 & 9/26 – Fri., 9-6 & Sat. 9-3, Vicksburg United Methodist Church Rummage Sale,

9/28 – Mon. Victorian Garden Club monthly program, 7 p.m. Presentation by Kristina Powers Aubry on 18th Century Gardening at the Historic Village. The public is encouraged to attend.

October

10/10 – Sat. Vicksburg High School Band Boosters 5K Glow Run at dusk.

10/15 – Tues. Generous Hands Fall Extravaganza, Lakeland Reformed Church on Sprinkle Road, 6-9 p.m.

10/24 – Sat. Kids Hope 20th Anniversary celebration Lakeland Reformed Church, 5 – 6:30 p.m.

10/26 – Mon. Victorian Garden Club fall craft and general meeting at Nancy Smoker’s home. For information call 269-649-9501.

Recurring events

Certified Veterans Service Officer, Robert Barton, helping with navigating the VA healthcare system at SCCS every Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Contact 649-2901 for further information.

Boy Scouts newspaper drop off on Richardson Street, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

Vicksburg Village Council meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Vicksburg District Library.

Vicksburg School Board meets the second Monday of the month, usually at the administration building at 7 p.m.

September

9/13 through 11/17 on Tuesdays from 1 – 3:30 at the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church. Diabetes Path: Six weeks to better health, offered by the Area Agency on Aging. Free but pre-registration is required by calling 259-679-4845.

9/14 through 10/8 on Mondays and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon. A Matter of Balance course offered by the Area Agency on Aging at the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church. It is free but pre-registration is required by calling the church at 269-679-4845.

9/19 – Sat. Ladies’ Library Association of Schoolcraft, “Cream Tea” at the Red Brick Tea Room on 163 Hayward St., Schoolcraft. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. seating or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., for a three course menu during either sitting. Cost is $12.50. Reservations at 269-679-5949.

10/3 – Sat. Chili in the Park, sponsored by KCSB from 1-3 p.m. in Burch Park.

Recurring events

Regular meetings of the Village Council on the first and third Monday of the month in the council chambers at 7 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Schoolcraft School Board on the second Monday at 7 p.m. usually at the high school.

Schoolcraft PTO meets on the third Monday every other month at the elementary school library, 6:30, beginning Sept. 21, Nov. 16, Jan. 18, March 21, and May 16.

Schoolcraft Ladies Library meets regularly on the first and third Tuesday of the month, usually at the LLA building.

Schoolcraft Historical Society meets regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at the Museum at 7 p.m.
