The Vicksburg Historical Society is planning a gathering to commemorate the long life of Mason Bishop, who was a good friend to the organization and a philanthropist as well. Family and friends are invited on Sunday, October 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Vicksburg Depot Museum. Examples of Bishop’s life-long interests will be on display. The Print Shop in the Historic Village will be open for visitors, as printing was the focus of his career. A short program will begin at approximately 1:15 and refreshments will be served with music playing in the background of some of his favorite pieces. Bishop was a musician nearly all his 98 years.
