The Vicksburg United Methodist Church (VUMC) has announced that it will begin offering a new service for children with special needs on November 15. This special needs worship service will be open to children between the ages of 6 to 18 years of age. Parents and guardians are not required to be members of the church to have their children attend.
This special service will take place during the 11 a.m. service in a separate location from the rest of the congregation. The Church will offer an adapted version of Pastor Buff Coe’s Sunday sermon. Special needs children attending this service will also be encouraged to celebrate God’s love through unique activities that are tailored to their needs.
Prior to participating in this service, parents and guardians of the children will be asked to complete a registration form and meet with the Special Needs Worship Service Leader, Andrea Read. She is a former special education teacher and is excited about this ministry opportunity. For more information about the service please contact Andrea Read through VUMC, at (269)649-2343. The church is located at 217 South Main Street in Vicksburg.
