
The Vicksburg High School Chamber Singers serenaded the folks attending the Christmas in the Village events on December 5.
Floats for the first evening Christmas parade in Vicksburg were festooned with bright lights and lots of children. The parade drew over 5,000 to the village on a warm winter’s evening.
Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene members volunteered to make and serve cookies and hot chocolate to the hundreds of children and their parents who lined up to speak to Santa during the festivities in Vicksburg. Judges for the parade were three well-known politicians, from left to right: Brandt Iden, state representative; Mary Balkema, Kalamazoo County treasurer; Margaret O’Brian, state senator.
Children were greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus in a heated tent on the grounds of Oswalt Park as the village of Vicksburg kicked off its Christmas celebration in 2015.
Schoolcraft United Methodist Church served dinner at the Christmas Walk on December 4. Joanne Bean, left, and Linda Greenhoe, right, planned the church’s Walk participation.
Merchants in Schoolcraft continued the Christmas Walk tradition begun some 25 years ago by Carl and Norma Tackett.
