“Once again, out of the gray doldrums of winter – it’s that time of the year again for the Vicksburg Lions Club fifth annual bowling tournament,” according to Brett Grossman, chair of the event.
Everyone is invited to come out and support the service club on Sunday, February 14, at Airway Fun Center, 5626 Portage Road. “This year the event is on Valentine’s Day,” said Grossman. “What could be more romantic than joining good friends for a good cause at the local bowling alley?
This year registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with bowling to begin at 12:30 p.m. All receipts go to support the club’s vision assistance for local residents and the club’s community programs. In 2015 they filled all available lanes and had nearly 200 bowlers. Airway has 31 lanes and the club hopes to fill them all again.
The entry fee is $25 per person and includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and pop. The club is encouraging folks to sign up as teams with six bowlers maximum per lane at a total cost of $150 per team. Lane and corporate sponsorships are also available. There will be drawings for prizes donated by local businesses and a 50/50 raffle.
