Vicksburg

3/3 – Thurs. The open house at Heart and Hands Preschool in Vicksburg United Methodist Church from 5-7 p.m. for families of preschoolers.

3/4 – Ladies Library Auxiliary meeting 1 p.m. at the library. Tanya DeLong from the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce is the speaker. The public is invited to attend.

3/5 – Sat. – Car washing event for the Vision capital campaign at the corner of N. Richardson and North Main, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

3/11, 3/12, 3/19, 3/20 – Little Shop of Horrors, high school play at the Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m. on weeknight, 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

3/17 – Thurs. St. Patrick’s Day at the VCAC, 6 – 8 p.m.”Rascals and Romantics–Irish Music, Food and Shenanigans,” gleeful pair Leigh Fryling and Phil Timko return to the VCAC in a celebration of their shared Celtic roots. call 269-501-1347 to reserve your place.

3/19, 3/20 – Michigan Maple Syrup Open House, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Butternut Creek Sugar Shack, 24890 Flach Rd., Mendon, 269-496-7082 for information. Free.

3/21 – Gilmore Family Concert, 7:30 p.m. at the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center. Free.

Recurring Events

Computer classes with Andrea, Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. Vicksburg Library.
Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center will be open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 1-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the gallery at 200 S. Main St.

Certified Veterans Service Officer Robert Barton, helping with navigating the VA healthcare system at SCCS every Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 649-2901 for more information.

Boy Scouts newspaper drop off on Richardson Street, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

Vicksburg Village Council meets the first and third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Vicksburg District Library.

Vicksburg School Board meets the second Monday of the month, usually at the administration building at 7 p.m.

For seniors from both communities

Kalamazoo County Advocates for Senior Issues (KCASI) program for Monday, March 21, 1:15-2:45 p.m. at Senior Services, 918 Jasper Street, Kalamazoo. Gillian Stoltman, Director of Kalamazoo County Health & Human Services will speak on the “Health of Kalamazoo County”. In addition, Terrence Neuzil, the newly appointed county administrator, will introduce himself to KCASI members. For information or questions, call 373-5147. Schoolcraft

3/11, 12, 18, 19 – Schoolcraft Drama Club presents The Little Mermaid, 7:30 at the High School Performing Arts Center.

3/26 – The United Methodist Men’s Group Pancake Breakfast Saturday, from 7:30 -10:30. The cost is $7 for Adults, $5 for kids 6-12 years, and $20 for a family.

Recurring events

Regular meetings of the Village Council on the first and third Monday of the month in the council chambers at 7 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Schoolcraft School Board on the second Monday at 7 p.m., usually at the high school.

Schoolcraft PTO meets on the third Monday every other month at the elementary school library, 6:30 p.m. Dates are Sept. 21, Nov. 16, Jan. 18, March 21, and May 16.

Schoolcraft Ladies Library meets regularly on the first and third Tuesday of the month, usually at the LLA building.

Schoolcraft Historical Society meets regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at the Museum at 7 p.m.
