4/29 – Fri. 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday Night at the Library:  Café Murder Mystery.  Tickets are $5.00 and must be purchased in advance.

4/5 – Tues. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.  Free Tax Clinic call 211 for appointment.

4/12 – Tues. Prom and Mom ‘Girls of all ages Night out’ event at Main St Pub in Vicksburg on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. Multiple vendors will be on site to help with finishing touches for prom like jewelry and make up or to purchase gifts for Mother’s Day such as Tupperware and accessories. Admission is free. Open to everyone!

4/16 – Sat. Lion’s Community Service Day (Cleanup) from 9 – 12 a.m.

4/16 – Sat. Vision Campaign Scavenger Hunt starting at the VCAC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4/16 – Sat. Hall of Fame induction at Angels Crossing, 7 p.m.

4/18 – Mon. Police Officers meeting. Before the council meeting between 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Vicksburg Library lower level.

4/20 – Docent training at the Historical Society. 6 – 8 p.m.

4/21 – Thurs. The DDA is also going to do a presentation by the Public Safety department at 6 p.m. at the Community Center.

4/23 – Sat. Little League parade 9 a.m.

4/23 – Sat. Dance Across the Decades 7 p.m. Sponsored by South County Community Services at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on W. Ave.

4/24 – Sun. Docent training at the Historical Society. 12 to 2 p.m.

4/24 – Sun. CROP Walk 2 p.m. Vicksburg United Methodist Church.

4/25 – Mon. 7 – 8 p.m. Quilters Group Class.

4/27 – Wed. 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Manga Candy Day for 6th – 8th grade

Recurring Events

Computer classes with Andrea, Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. Vicksburg Library.
Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center will be open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 1-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the gallery at 200 S. Main St.

Certified Veterans Service Officer Robert Barton, helping with navigating the VA healthcare system at SCCS every Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Contact 649-2901 for further information.

Boy Scouts newspaper drop off on Richardson Street, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

Vicksburg Village Council meets the first and third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Vicksburg District Library.

Vicksburg School Board meets the second Monday of the month, usually at the administration building at 7 p.m.

For Seniors from Both Communities

4/18 Mon. – 1:15 – 2:45 p.m. Kalamazoo County Advocates for Senior Issues will present a program on the “May Ballot Proposals: What You Need to Know”. Guest presenters are: Sheriff Rick Fuller, Law Enforcement and Sean McBride, Director of Metro Transit. It will be held at Senior Services Coover Center, 918 Jasper Street, Kalamazoo.

Schoolcraft

4/7 – Thurs. Brown Bag with Miss Bobbi 12:00-1:00 p.m. Grades K-3rd. Don’t know what to do on Spring Break? Come hear some stories read by Miss Bobbi! Parents, you provide a bagged lunch and we will provide water and a snack. Followed by a fun scavenger hunt in the library. Space is limited; sign up today!

4/11 – 16 – National Library Week – Food For Fines! In honor of National Library Week the library is offering “Food For Fines.” Fines will be forgiven with the donation of an unexpired/non-perishable food item. Please note that this applies to materials overdue as of January 1st, 2016. Fines will be excused up to a $5 maximum on current or previously incurred fines. Collected food will go to the food pantry. We will also be giving out pencils and have a special guessing contest to win a prize!

4/13 – Wed. Art Open House: Student Art On Display. Come see an assortment of student art on display at our Spring Art Open House. Meet the middle and high school artists as well as art teacher Jaime Hilaski. Refreshments served. 5:30-7:00 p.m. Art on display through May.

Recurring Events

Regular meetings of the Village Council on the first and third Monday of the month in the council chambers at 7 p.m.

Regular meeting of the Schoolcraft School Board on the second Monday at 7 p.m., usually at the high school.

Schoolcraft PTO meets on the third Monday every other month at the elementary school library, 6:30 p.m. Dates are Sept. 21, Nov. 16, Jan. 18, March 21, and May 16.

Schoolcraft Ladies Library meets regularly on the first and third Tuesday of the month, usually at the LLA building.

Schoolcraft Historical Society meets regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at the Museum at 7 p.m.
