The Schoolcraft Schools Alumni Association Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
The annual event celebrates the current year graduates of Schoolcraft High School and honors the class celebrating its 50th anniversary. Anyone who attended or graduated from Schoolcraft Schools is cordially invited to attend, according to Sue Bates Hendriksma, one of the main organizers.
At the banquet, scholarships awarded to two current high school graduates by the Alumni Association will be announced followed by a short program.
A social hour begins 5:30 pm and dinner follows at 6:30 pm. Please bring a generous dish to share. Table service, coffee, punch, rolls and butter will be provided. Those people who graduated in 2015 or 1966 may choose to bring a dish or just sit back and enjoy the party, Hendriksma said. A fee of $10 per person will be collected to support the costs of mailings and events. There will also be a short business meeting after the program.
Members of the Alumni Association Executive Committee include Bryon Balch, Judy Shelley Oliphant, Hendriksma, Betsy Rice and Aaron Beery. The banquet planning committee includes Shannon Sauer Becker. The Association encourages people to invite classmates, family, and fellow alumni to attend also. A representative of any class that would like to reserve a table at the banquet may contact Association President Bryon Balch, at 269-329-9445.
