Father of three teenage daughters.

“I desire to give back to my community. As an anti-corruption attorney, I’ve dealt with major issues within local government and within the private sector in accounting for over 10 years. The treasurer’s role has the capacity to increase growth by being the chief investment officer. I understand our tax dollars must be used to benefit all of our citizens. The need to provide fairness, consistency, and prosperity to all of Kalamazoo County is what has compelled me to run for Kalamazoo County Treasurer.”

Age 67, BA degree from Kalamazoo College, 1971. Treasurer for Sean McCann for State Senate in 2014. treasurer for McCann for Michigan Fund, 2013-2014. Ten years of experience at the American Medical Association’s PAC managing $2.5 million in contributions from medical professionals and their spouses.

“I am running to better serve the people of Kalamazoo County who deserve someone who cares deeply about them and wants to genuinely help them.  The Treasurer’s office and County Land Bank currently lack any kind of transparency. What I’d change:  I would have the Treasurer’s staff help people facing foreclosure by directing them to such organizations (but not limited to) Step Forward Michigan. Also I would help people by setting up flexible payment programs to pay their delinquent property taxes. And I would help people avoid mortgage foreclosures by working with mortgage companies and other financial institutions to help people restructure their mortgages. The last thing I want are blighted neighborhoods.
