Vicksburg Exchange Student Had a Great Year

st. clair family with jeremyJeremy Mely is a high school exchange student from Hanover, Germany. He came to the U.S. through an organization called International Experience with Carolyn Kitzmiller as his Vicksburg advisor. He has been living with his host family, Steve and Mindy St. Clair, and attending high school in Vicksburg for 2015-2016 academic year.

“I just want to say thank you to my host family, the St.Clairs, and to the community of Vicksburg. When I arrived last August, I was very nervous about living in a completely new place, but they were very welcoming. They made me feel like I was a part of their family right away. Not only is my host family nice, but the entire community has been there for me through this entire experience. From the time I arrived until now I have loved getting to know everyone. My favorite memory was probably being part of the football and basketball teams,” he said.

“I know when I leave in July I will not just say goodbye to just a host family. I will say ‘See you later’ to my second family of Vicksburg, because I’m sure we will see each other again soon. Thank you again to the St.Clairs and community of Vicksburg for this amazing year and experiences,” Mely said.
