Schoolcraft Community Library is sponsoring a Schoolcraft Community Summer Palooza on Thursday, August 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Burch Park.
The library is partnering with new businesses in Schoolcraft for a Family Fun Night so the public can learn all about them at this Summer Palooza. Other local businesses will be in the park to greet families and help with the activities. There will be family fun games, such as Twister, Yard Yahtzee, Corn Hole, Tic Tac Toe, Duck Pond and a photo booth, so bring your camera. There will be food, a 50/50 drawing, book & bake sales, craft vendors. The Friends are pulling out all the stops with the Fresh Food Fairy, music, entertainment, and more.

New Doors a Gift of the Vicksburg Foundation and Friends
The library received a grant from the Vicksburg Foundation to help cover the costs of automated doors. Installation is set for the first week in August, with a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. August 3, after the Book Club gets out. Patrons can expect some tasty treats all day to celebrate the improved entrance. Friends of the Library also contributed to funding this project. Buttons and other hardware and wiring will be installed on the existing doors to allow for a more barrier-free entrance/exit at the front of the library. This will make the entrance more accommodating to all people in the community. Vicksburg Foundation and the Friends of the Schoolcraft Library are very supportive of the library endeavors, large and small. “We are so lucky to have them,” exclaimed Faye VanRavenswaay, head librarian.
