The Lady Bulldogs varsity volleyball team had an excellent season last year, bringing home a District title before falling to Buchanan in the Regional finals.
But this year’s team will have a very different look since seven seniors graduated out of last year’s squad. Head Coach Katrina Miller isn’t discouraged however, especially with how the younger players have responded to her coaching advice.
“They’re like sponges, they just absorb anything,” Miller said. “I’m excited.”
There are just two seniors on the team in Anna Schriemer and star libero Morgan Preston. But Miller said both are showing extremely strong leadership, even with Preston out for the moment with injury. Miller said they expect to have her back in a few weeks.
The girls have their next home match on September 7 against Plainwell.
