Vicksburg

10/7 – Sat. Marching Band Invitational at Vicksburg High School. 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

10/7 – Sat. Pet Adoption Day at the Vicksburg District Library. Come meet with cats and dogs and see if one is the right match for you! Regular adoption fees apply, must fill out a form and have a working relationship with a veterinarian. 1-4 p.m.

10/7 – Hidden Vicksburg in downtown Vicksburg. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at VicksburgDDA.com/Hidden-Vicksburg or at the Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

10/8 – Project Graduation Can Drive, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Family Fare parking lot.

10/11 – Wed. ReCharge at the Vicksburg District Library. 4th and 5th graders are invited to the library for snacks, games, and movies! Adults do not need to be present. 4-5 p.m.

10/11 – Wed. Marching Band Festival at Vicksburg High School. 3-10 p.m.

10/17 – Tues. Historical Society’s Speakers Series featuring Ron Kramer, WMU professor and lifetime baseball fan, to talk about the social history of baseball at the Vicksburg Community Center at 7 p.m. Public is encouraged to attend, especially if they are baseball fans.

10.18 – Fabulous Flapjack Fundraiser for the Vicksburg area United Way, sponsored by SCCS from 7-10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church on S. Main Street.

10/20 – Fri. Coffeehouse Concert: Double Strung at the Vicksburg Community Center. $5 cover charge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., concert starts at 7 p.m.

10/23 – Mon. Garden Club Meeting at the Fulton Church. Supper will be available as well as a small craft project. A vote for next year’s officers will be taken.

10/25 – Wed. Bulldog Break Time at the Vicksburg Community Library. Teens in grades 6-12 can come by for WiiU, crafts, snacks, and more! 2:45-3:45 p.m.

10/26 – Thurs. Big Red Machine Spectacular at Vicksburg High School. 7-8:30 p.m.

10/27, 28, & 29 – Fri., Sat., & Sun. Bye Bye Birdie at the Vicksburg Performing Arts Center. Tickets $12 for adults, $5 for children, and $10 for seniors. Show starts at 7 p.m. on the 27th and 28th, 2 p.m. on the 29th.

10/31 – Trick or Treating in the village will take place between 5 and 8 p.m.

11/11 – Sat. VCAC 2nd Annual Fundraising Auction at the Vicksburg Community Center. $40 per ticket includes dinner and music! 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Schoolcraft

10/4 – Wed. Schoolcraft Historical Society’s speaker Thomas Buettner from Grand Rapids on Houses of the rich and famous on Machinaw Island, 7:30 in the Nathan Thomas house. Public is invited to attend.

10/7 – Sat. Chili in the Park at Leo Burch Park from 1-3 p.m., sponsored by the Kalamazoo County State Bank. Public is encouraged to attend.

10/24 – Tues. Creepy Crawly Halloween at the Schoolcraft Community Library. Binder Park Zoo will be bringing creepy creatures for the kids to look at, with a trick-or-treat in the library afterwards. Begins 6 p.m.

10/28 – Sat. Mending Marathon at the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church. Bring clothes that need repaired, hemmed, patched, or with buttons that need replacing for no charge. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

10/29 – Sun. Schoolcraft PTO’s Fall Fest for Halloween called “Trunk or Treating” at the High School.

10/31 – Tues. Schoolcraft United Methodist Church at 342 N. Grand St., will host a Trunk-R-Treat on Halloween, from 5:30-7:30 pm. There will be indoor and outdoor trick-or-treating, and free dinner for each family.

11/ 1 – Wed. Schoolcraft Historical Society program on the Viking era by Kal and Karen VanderWeele of the Norsemen of Michigan, a living history society. The public is invited to attend.
