“Our specialty is the individual, customized wedding space that we can provide for the bride and groom,” said Mark Bush, general manager of Indian Run Golf, Restaurant and Banquet facility in Scotts. “Plus, we specialize in food and beverage service so the event does not need to be catered in or a bartender hired from outside.”
The large dining room is set in a picturesque setting looking out on the course’s 18th green. “We utilize the deck that faces east toward the green so guests can flow in and out of the building. The challenge we often face during the season is balancing the golf and event schedule when they fall on the same day. Through diligent planning and understanding guests, we re-direct traffic flow of golf carts and guests to accommodate all of our guests. At certain times, we will even shut down the green on number 18 for a short time to take beautiful wedding pictures,” Bush said.
The large banquet room can accommodate up to 200 people. “We take pride in customizing our space to fit the needs of each family. The base rental price includes use of the rooms, linens, tables, chairs and anything else we can provide to make the wedding day special,” Bush explained. “Not only are our food and beverage services ahead of their time, but it is our personal touch with the guests that sets us apart from the rest. We work closely with each guest to produce fantastic food and a great environment. Chef Michael Hill, formerly of C.W Michael’s in Kalamazoo, and Firekeepers Casino, has been a huge addition and has found a home here for the past four years. We invite our guests to participate in the planning of menus and offer taste tests prior to events for no extra charge. Assistant Manager Cody Short takes the lead on these and is sure to keep folks smiling throughout their entire time with us.”
“This laid-back style and attention to detail, as well as our personal connection with our guests, is what we pride ourselves on, and our business continues to grow because of this,” Bush said.
It’s also a good venue for a rehearsal dinner with plenty of space available on the wedding day for dressing rooms and other needs. The natural light and beautiful view set the tone, as well as the open floor plan which can be arranged in many ways to meet the needs of guests. On nights and weekends, the room is transformed with a stage and live music to accommodate the large dance floor.
