As the Vicksburg Vintage Market anticipates its third season, organizers expect it will be the best yet.
Over three years ago, talk began of the Centreville Antique Market ending. Vicksburg Vintage Market organizer and vendor Karen Jameson knew there was a need for some type of outlet for displaced vendors and their customers.
After talking to other individuals, she decided to investigate and promote a market at the Vicksburg Pavilion, and the Vicksburg Vintage Market was born.
This is one of the few outdoor markets in the area, and according to vendor Cliff Locke, the response has been great.
Visitors can find individuals selling everything from antique toys and books to fishing lures, glassware, and jewelry. One woman sells painted vintage furniture and of course there are several vendors selling weird, unique, one-of-a-kind items. Often, there is a food truck on site.
The Vicksburg Vintage Market runs the third Sunday of the month, May through September, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vicksburg Pavilion at 300 N. Richardson. It’s great family fun and a terrific way to support small local businesses.
The market usually features 20-30 vendors. Locke indicates there is room for more. If interested, contact karenjameson61@gmail.com or call 269-599-1317.
