Welcome, September! What a wonderful time of year in Southwest Michigan! The humidity has decreased, and the nights are cooler. Schools are back in session and the corn stands tall in the fields.

So many good things are happening in our area, some of which are featured in our September edition.

Betsy Wagner’s 90th birthday celebration will be held from 3-6 p.m. on September 21, in the Vicksburg District Library’s basement.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Martin of Tours Church is sponsoring a Walk for the Poor on Sunday, September 25. All are invited to join the Walk virtually or in person by donating and/or collecting pledges from other supporters. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Vicksburg Recreation Area/Trail parking lot off 12538 S. Sprinkle Road. Together, we can raise funds, and awareness, to help our friends in need from this area who are struggling with housing, food, utilities and more during these difficult times. The Schoolcraft Ladies Library Association will hold its Cream Tea, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” at the Ladies Library Association Building, Saturday, September 24. There are two seatings: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $18, by reservation. For reservations, please contact: Candy Shearer, the event chair, at 679-4289.
