Generous Hands, partnering with South County Community Services for the annual Christmas Party on December 17 for families, is collecting new and gently used books and toys for the gathering. These may be dropped off at SCCS, 606 Spruce St. Vicksburg.
Warm winter wear will be distributed during December. The Vicksburg United Methodist Church will be donating hats and scarves again, but mittens and gloves in all sizes are still needed.
Community members and groups continue to make a difference. Late November, Melvin Kuis and Jim Schippers, members of Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 5189, presented Sheri Louis, director of Generous Hands, with a gift of $500 for the Power Pack Program.
