Schoolcraft Township seeks input

By Barry Visel, Planning Commission chair

Schoolcraft Township, updating its master plan, is asking for comment from residents.

The master plan is a document that guides the future growth and development of the township, and it is important that the plan reflects the needs and desires of the community. The plan will set goals for land use such as agricultural preservation, waterfront development, housing and commercial uses and infrastructure needs. This process will guide policy on issues such as water, sewer systems, internet, and wind and solar power installation.

By participating in the review process, residents can help ensure that the township’s master plan reflects the needs and desires of the community, and that the township continues to be a great place to call home.

Residents of Schoolcraft Township can participate in these ways:

  • Complete the quick and anonymous survey online.
  • Complete a paper copy of the survey at the Schoolcraft Township Hall.
  • Attend the Schoolcraft Township Planning Commission meetings which are held the first Monday of the month (second Monday in July and September), 6 p.m., at the Schoolcraft Township Hall, 50 East VW Ave. at 18th St.

The survey will close May 30 2023. Your input will help shape the future of the Township and ensure that it remains a great place to live, work and play. Thank you for your time and consideration.
