At the Feb. 9 Board of Education meeting, Dr. Jack and Char Sauer donated $50,000 to create a foundation to fund staff and professional development in perpetuity.

Jack Sauer served on the Schoolcraft Board of Education for over forty years. The Sauers thanked the Board for all that they have done to enrich the lives of the children in Schoolcraft schools. He also thanked the Board of Education their work to improve the schools.

Dr. Rusty Stitt, superintendent, and Mike Rochholz, board president, in turn thanked the Sauers for their generous gift to Schoolcraft schools.

Jack Sauer graduated from Schoolcraft, went on to obtain a veterinarian degree and come back to practice in Schoolcraft.  His grandchildren currently attend Schoolcraft schools as well.
