Sean McDonald receives an award from Marc Fox, Schoolcraft transportation supervisor.

The Schoolcraft school board gave recognition to the high school wrestlers who qualified for the state meet at their April meeting.

Sophomores Spencer Fox and Ethan Sharp and juniors Zac Sharp and Justin Bradford all qualified. “These guys are unbelievable to me, the work ethic they put in,” said Coach Rob Ling. He says the ability to lead is the quality attribute in each of the students. “The leadership of these young men, that’s the best part of them,” Ling said.

Schoolcraft’s team is still very young, and Ling says. He is looking forward to what next season will bring for the squad with even more experience. He would like to see a few of them win a state title. “I always talk about bringing the change, I think these guys can bring that change,” Ling said.

The board also saw the presentation of the Kalamazoo Regional Education Parent advisory award to special-needs driver Sean McDonald. The award is given in recognition of services to students the community. “We are very fortunate to have Sean in our district,” said Marc Fox, transportation supervisor and maintenance, grounds, and mechanic. “Sean’s pretty humble, he does go the extra mile for students,” Fox said. “We hope to have him many more years at Schoolcraft Schools.“
