The third annual Taste of Vicksburg is set to take place at the corner of Main and Prairie Streets on Saturday, June 27.
Some new wrinkles have been added to the festivities sponsored by the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce, according to Brian Pitts, the Chamber’s new president and event coordinator. Craft beers will be included on the beer menu, which in the past has included three Miller products: Miller High Life, Lite and Leinenkugal. The beer tent will be located on S. Main Street instead of Prairie Street as in the past.
The food items offered by eleven participating restaurants will include a “barbecue” item on some of their menus as this is the theme of the event, according to Pitts. The food vendors will stretch across Prairie Street with access to the beer tent through an approved opening.
The food emporiums participating include: Mandy’s Candy Café, Rise-N-,Dine, Taco Bob’s, Stubby’s Smokehouse, Jaspare’s Pizza, The Vault, Main Street Pub, Apple Knockers Ice Cream Parlor, The Village Hide-A-Way, China 1, and Hungry Howie’s.
Some children’s activities are being planned along with the opportunity for kids to eat their evening meal at the Taste, according to Pitts.
The music will be provided by Hoosier Highway and Pole Barn Rebels. The music will end at 11 p.m. in respect to local residents who need a good night’s sleep.
