Schoolcraft’s boys basketball has used its height advantage to earn an early 3-1 record heading into holiday break.

The Eagles dominated Lawton (52-32), Galesburg-Augusta (60-16), and Bangor (68-30). Vicksburg beat Schoolcraft 71-53.

Schoolcraft features a deep team with a lot of size. Jason Feddema, Cody Tone, Blake Bales, and Matt Schuppel are all expected to contribute throughout the season. Early on, this group has not disappointed Coach Randy Small.

Against Lawton, Feddema had 16 points to lead the Eagles as they took control of the game with a 30-3 halftime lead. Walker Small added 14 points, and Schoolcraft was able to get everyone solid playing time.

Vicksburg was able to turn a 12 point halftime lead into an 18 point win. Small led the Eagles with 12 points and five rebounds. Schuppel added 12 points in a losing effort.

Schoolcraft finished 2015 with a blowout win at Bangor. The Eagles outscored the Vikings 18-7 in the third quarter to turn a 32-12 halftime lead into an easy victory. Tone led the team with 23 points and Bales had 12. Feddema had eight rebounds and Riley Piper had 7 assists.

“We have a really athletic team this year, and it’s going to be a fun year,” Feddema said. “Break is a really good time for improvement so it’s a good time for the team to grow and get better. We need to concentrate on playing more as a team the rest of the season.”

Schoolcraft plays Kalamazoo Christian and Hackett Catholic in January.
