The 2015-2016 Schoolcraft boys basketball season has been a story of both dominance and tight losses. After a 49-point victory at Marcellus, the Eagles dropped a game by 10 points at Constantine. A nine-point loss to Kalamazoo Hackett was followed by dominant victories at Lawton (12 points) and Galesburg Augusta (43 points).

After a 45-point win against Parchment, the Eagles faced a one-loss Kalamazoo Christian team. With 2:15 remaining in the game, the Comets held a 44-39 lead. As play continued, some of the lights in the Schoolcraft gym went out, causing a delay. When play resumed, the Eagles went on a 5-0 run capped off by Cody Tone’s tying basket with 10 seconds left. In overtime, K Christian extended a 53-41 lead by making six free throws with 40 seconds to go.

Schoolcraft is 10-5 heading into the end of the season. Tone, Jason Feddema, Matt Schuppel, and Blake Bales have played strong in the paint. Walker Small, Noah Troyer, Zach Parsons, Riley Piper, and Max Kulczyk run the offense. When the Eagles have fallen short, it’s been due to cold shooting. When they are getting quality minutes from the full roster, few teams can challenge them.

Schoolcraft finishes the regular season with games against Hackett, Delton Kellogg, Martin, and Constantine.
