“I have lived in the South County area my entire life, graduating from Vicksburg Schools and working for the schools and township. Serving the public has always been a pleasure for me and I feel that it is extremely important as budgets shrink and needs grow to all work together to provide the essential services and supports to the citizens of the communities we serve. One of the many issues we face is the growing need for senior housing in the area and I would like to be a part of the solution. You deserve to be represented with courtesy and respect. Please consider electing me for Township Clerk.”

Virginia M. Mongreig, incumbent

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMy husband, Chip Mongreig and I are lifelong residents of Schoolcraft Township, both graduates of Schoolcraft Schools. We have a son and two daughters with two granddaughters attending Schoolcraft Schools and a grandson and granddaughter attending Parchment Schools. I initially spent 25 years in banking customer service before coming to work in office administration at Schoolcraft Township in 2001. After learning the basics and fine points of running the clerk’s office, I ran for and was elected Schoolcraft Township Clerk in 2004. I have since been re-elected in 2008 and 2012.

“I am running for re-election as your clerk in 2016 as I believe I have the compassion, dedication and experience that you deserve. I love my township. I love my job. I will continue my stand for the preservation of Schoolcraft Township as a whole, listening to my constituents to ensure all are protected by our zoning and future land use plans. I will continue to be a strong defender of our beautiful wetlands and farming community while keeping a watchful eye on your hard-earned tax dollars to make sure they are used wisely and to your best benefit.”
