Halloween in the Village

harvest-fest-1The Vicksburg Historical Society will be hosting a fun, family friendly Halloween event in the Historic Village buildings at 300 N. Richardson Street, on Saturday, October 22 between 4 and 7 p.m. Children and their parents should register for the event at the gazebo in the center of the Historic Village when they arrive. Activities include:  Safe trick or treating, fun and spooky ghost stories, a chilling artifact display, decorating make and take gourds, and other ghoulishly great arts and crafts.

Children can compete for prizes in the historic personalities costume contest with prizes awarded for ages 0-7, 8-17, and 18+.  They can board the “haunted” caboose and freight car. Additional spooktacular fun awaits.  Admission is $3/person; members of the Historical Society are free.  For the most up-to-date details, check the Facebook page at the Vicksburg Historical Society and Historic Village or call 269-649-1733. This is an event for all ages according to Jessica Zwalua, the operations manager for the Historical Society.
