Sadie and Maya Grossman, Vicksburg, received the royal treatment from Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo when their grandfather, Jeff Grossman, was honored to receive an Excellence in Education award from the Michigan Lottery.
He and his family were invited to the Breslin Center to watch the Michigan State basketball team practice and then tour the building and meet Izzo in his office.
“He was accommodating and gracious and the office was drool-worthy for a Michigan State alum such as the girls’ dad, Brett Grossman. His dad received a $500 cash prize, $500 for his classroom and is entered to win the annual award of $10,000 the lottery provides.
The senior Grossman has been teaching at Ingham Intermediate School District for over 40 years.
