Ron and MaryLou Hildebrand were joined in matrimony on June 6, 1947 at the Free Methodist church in Kalamazoo. 70 years later, MaryLou tells the recipe for a successful marriage, “Good communication and great respect.”
Ron, a graduate of Vicksburg High School, and MaryLou, of Comstock, have four daughters, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The couple met on a blind date while MaryLou worked at a drug store, “Perhaps you could call it love at first sight,” said MaryLou.
When asked what they would be doing for their 70th anniversary, MaryLou said, “We will be laying low and hanging with the kids.”
Sheri Ritchie, their daughter, thanked her parents for their true love and dedication on behalf of the family and friends. “We love you very much!” Ritchie told them.
