Schoolcraft High School junior Hope Wright received the 5th place female state award, 1st place female 2021 conference award and her varsity letter award in trapshooting. Her final trapshooting average was 22.8 x 25. Hope’s final tally of registered broken targets was 228 X 250 targets of the fall league required total. Her trapshooting score was good enough for her to be state-ranked 33 out of 592 all-gender trap shooters.

The spring 2022 season is going to be very exciting for Coach Chuck Fritts and his support team once the student shooters understand the system of drills and disciplines needed for competition. The future bodes well for the program, especially with the continuing support of the parents and the community.

The 2022 spring season will start in March, kicking off with a five school invitational trapshooting tournament with each team shooting at 500 targets. The tournament will be hosted at the Lakes Area Sportsmen’s Club in Portage
