Oatmeal cookies: Save that sour cream

Deborah’s oatmeal cookies.

Deborah Harsha needed a way to use some extra sour cream, and voila! She discovered this super-delicious, super-easy recipe for oatmeal cookies. Deborah says, “Now I have sour cream on the list again as my family is eating these cookies like no tomorrow!”


1 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 t baking soda
1 cup sour cream
½ t baking powder
2 cups flour
2 t cinnamon
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins (or better yet, dried cranberries)

Mix in order given

Bake @ 350 degrees 15-18 minutes (best if under- vs over-baked)
