Vicksburg Clay Target team in July sent five members to the USA high school national championships in Mason, Michigan. Skye Smith, Kevin Francisco, Brayden Dugray, Bryce Sherwood and Greyson Young competed on July 11, 2025. Their collective scores of 241 out of 250 qualified them to return two days later.
The team qualified from a starting group of 254 teams down to the best 80 teams in the nation advancing to the Championship round. Although the team didn’t place in the top ten, members still put up some great scores and made it to the National Finals.
Bryce Sherwood competed in the National Championships Single Shooter’s division on July 12, 2025 and shot 98 out of 100 targets with 3 25 straights and a 50 straight and advanced to the finals on Sunday July 13. He finished his season on July 13, 2025 at the individual championship placing 81 out of 400 qualifiers with another 98 out of 100 targets.
