The Lord called David Thomas home unexpectedly on February 4, 2026. David Benjamin Thomas was born on September 27, 1969. He grew up in Vicksburg Michigan where his joyful spirit and love of laughter were evident from an early age. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, husband and friend whose humor and playful nature brightened the lives of everyone around him. David was known for his playful jokes and warm heart. He had a boisterous, contagious laugh and an infectious smile that could light up any room.

On October 6, 2018 David married his soulmate Donna (Kinsman) Thomas in Centerville Michigan. They built a life together centered on faith, love and their service to God. David’s love for warmer weather later brought them to settle in Nevada where they continued to worship and serve the Lord side by side. Their shared devotion and partnership reflected their deep love and unwavering commitment to each other. Music was always close to David’s heart. His love of music inspired him to learn the guitar so he could play in the worship band at his church. Through music he expressed both his faith and his joy for life. He would never turn down the chance to belt out one of his favorite songs at karaoke night. David had a lifelong passion for sports, especially football and he could often be found spending time with one of his loyal dogs by his side finding happiness in their companionship.

David had recently received a calling from God to become a pastor and he was preparing to move to Jacksonville Florida in the fall to begin his pastoral apprenticeship. He once thought he would never want to teach anything but suddenly it was all he wanted to do.

David is survived by his wife Donna; his parents Sharon (Wallace)Thomas and Gregory Thomas; and his family members Leanna and Samantha Thomas; Todd and Debbie (Bartholomew) Thomas; Jodie (Thomas) and Patrick McNally ; Brenda Vallier, Stuart and Hannah ( Houseman) Thomas; Monica Thomas; Ryan Thomas; Jason, Brandon and Zack Thomas and Kaylie and Sean McNally.

David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his sense of humor, his love of music and good times and the deep love he had for his family and friends . His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in loving memory to a charity of your choice.
