Jennifer Marie Moon (Jenni) of Sorrento, FL, passed away on February 20, 2026.
Jenni was born on October 26, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She grew up in Schoolcraft, Michigan, and attended Western Michigan University, where she earned her teaching degree.
In 1989, Jenni married Rollie Moon, and they shared over 36 years together. In 1995, they were blessed with a son, Nathan, who later brought his wife, Cara, into the family.
Jenni’s dream was to be a teacher, and she spent 31 years teaching high school Spanish, French, and English at a variety of schools, starting in Allegan, Michigan, and ending in Sanford, Florida. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at her school, Crooms Academy, in 2018.
Outside of work, Jenni enjoyed reading, crocheting, and learning new languages. Her German Duolingo streak reached 2,131 days. She also enjoyed traveling, especially camping trips with Rollie and their Shih Tzu, Jayce.
She will be remembered for her high-energy enthusiasm and her love of people.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents; her mother-in-law, Margie Holcomb; her mother-in-law, Gloria Moon; her father-in-law, Denny Holcomb; her brother-in-law, Patrick Howard; and her uncle, Doug Byas.
She is survived by her husband, Rollie; her son, Nate (Cara); her father, Rick (Beth) Kirvan; her mother, Donna Kirvan; her brother, Keith Kirvan; her sister, Kelli (Matt) Winkel; her brothers-in-laws, Rick (Tina) Moon, Rob (Tracy) Moon and Tony (Becky) Moon; her father-in-law, Dick Moon; her cousins, Tammy (Brian) Campbell and Jim (Michelle) Byas; and many more nieces, nephews, and second cousins.
Jenni’s remains will be placed at Pineview Cemetery in Mt. Dora, Florida.
A celebration of life is scheduled for May 2nd 2026 at Langland Funeral Home, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with visitation starting at 10:00AM and the service beginning at 11:00AM. Everyone is welcome to stay for a luncheon, following the funeral Service.
