Donna Jean (Veldt) Keith, 79, of Scotts, passed away peacefully February 21, 2026. Born in Kalamazoo November 8, 1946, Donna was the second of five children and the only daughter of John and Denna (Gernaat) Veldt. Donna graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School and worked for Gibson Guitar Corporation for fourteen years. There she met the love of her life, Dennis Keith, and they were married on December 31, 1971. Together they built a life rooted in devotion and partnership. After leaving Gibson, Donna earned her nursing degree from the Borgess School of Nursing and dedicated twenty years as a registered nurse at Ascension Borgess Hospital. She later continued her nursing career for another ten years with Fresenius Medical Care. Donna found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments: tending to her flowers and garden, caring for animals, and nurturing the world around her. She enjoyed long motorcycle trips with Dennis, leisurely drives and peaceful walks. She also liked crocheting and needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Carol Veldt; sister-in-law Mary Veldt; and nephew Matthew Veldt. She is survived by her husband; brothers Norm Veldt, John (Lorie) Veldt, Russ (Toni) Veldt, and Charles (Linda) Veldt; along with many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Donna’s deep love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice. Services have been held.
