Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (DeLano) Prosser, of Schoolcraft, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on October 3, 1946, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Marvin and Rachael (Ramsdell) DeLano.

Cindy spent her early years attending Schoolcraft Schools before transferring in the 10th grade to Vicksburg High School, where she graduated. Following graduation, she married Gary Kibler, and together they welcomed three children: Angie, Jon, and Kori.

Later in life, Cindy reconnected with an old school friend, Ronald Prosser. Their story rekindled at the Vicksburg Beer and Brat Festival in 1980, where a shared dance to Anne Murray’s “Could I Have This Dance” marked the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. The two were united in marriage on November 28, 1980, in Kalamazoo, and went on to share forty-five loving years together.

Cindy dedicated nineteen years of hard work to Upjohn Pharmaceuticals, where she was known for her diligence and commitment, retiring in 2000. Never one to sit still, she continued her passion for creativity by working at a local quilt shop before eventually starting her own business, Big Island Quilt Company, in Schoolcraft. Through her quilting, Cindy shared both her talent and her heart with those around her.

In 1988, Cindy and Ron built her dream home—a beautiful log cabin just outside of Schoolcraft. There, they created countless memories together, especially through their shared love of Corvettes. They enjoyed participating in their local Corvette club, and Cindy especially adored her Bumblebee Yellow Corvette modeled after the Indianapolis Pace Car.

Cindy had a deep appreciation for family history and genealogy. She took great pride in tracing her roots back to ancestors who arrived in America on the Mayflower. She also cherished attending the DeLano Kindred Yearly Gathering, where extended family members would come together from across the country to celebrate their shared heritage.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Butch DeLano.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of forty-five years, Ronald Prosser; her children: Angie Heath, Wendy (Steve) Pheils, Janet Mendocha, Jon Kibler, and Kori (Jeff) Coleman; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, public services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the funeral home, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Cindy will be laid to rest with her family at Vicksburg Cemetery following the service.

The Prosser family is being cared for by the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Homes and Cremation Society, 409 South Main Street, Vicksburg, MI 49097. 269-649-1697.
