Jerry “Buck” L. Green, of Vicksburg passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 85. He was a dedicated and hardworking man known for his spirited personality and enduring sense of humor. He was born on October 15, 1940, in Leonidas, Michigan; the son of Carl and Dorothea (Moyer) Green. Buck’s life was marked by his fun-loving personality.

Buck was a graduate of Vicksburg High School’s Class of 1958. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything. In his earlier years, he owned and operated two gas stations. He later owned G&G Lumber, making pallets for industrial use, before getting into the construction trades in the late 1980’s until his retirement.

His personal life was rich with love. On June 13, 1986, he married Mary Provoost, embarking on a marriage that lasted forty years. Their union was a cornerstone of his life; a bond filled with memories.

Those who knew Buck remember him for his lively spirit and passion for fun. He carried a reputation for being lucky at gambling, whether playing cards or slots at the casino. Buck enjoyed westerns, NASCAR, trips to the U.P. and riding the trails up north, in his truck, side by side, or snowmobile. He loved sitting on his deck with a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, in Vicksburg or at their property up north.

Buck leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work, humor, and heartfelt connections. His family describes him as fun-loving and possessing a great sense of humor. Buck’s memory will remain a part of the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honoring his life, we remember a man who lived with purpose, loved deeply, and embraced the simple pleasures with enthusiasm and grace. His story is one of resilience, affection, and the enduring warmth of a well-lived life.

Buck is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Provoost) Green; three children: Laurie (Dave Ewing) Cantwell, of Vicksburg; Todd (Robyn) Czuk, of South Boardman; and Becky (Ken) Goodwin, of Mendon; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
