It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Patrick Mattimore, who departed this life on June 23, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on August 10, 1949, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Tim built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community.
Tim was husband to Pamela Howe Mattimore for 21 years and had a second marriage to Tina Rice Mattimore. He was also a loving father to Heather Peterson and Ryan Mattimore (Michelle Mattimore) as well as a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, including Kaitlyn Robinson (Thad Robinson), Kelsea Shepard (Brandon Shepard), Corbin Peterson, Mackenzie Hunt (Cole Hunt), and Alissa Mattimore. Tim is survived by his sisters Sandra Crouch (Bill Crouch), Judy Carver (Roger Carver), and Joan Cole (Bob Cole).
Throughout his 30-year career as a rural mail carrier with the Hartford Post Office, Tim was known for his strong work ethic, even receiving an award for his dedication. Tim was also involved in his local community of Hartford, Michigan, where he coached baseball for several years, contributed to the Council for Recreation, was a member of the school board, and owned the local barber shop. He could often be found hunting, fishing, drinking coffee at the Panel Room, or enjoying the company of his many beloved dogs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tim’s name to your local Humane Society – honoring his lifelong appreciation for animals. A celebration of life will be held in Vicksburg, Michigan at a later date.
