Dave Brooks, of Schoolcraft passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the age of 63. Dave leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy marked by quiet strength, devotion, and steadfast love for his family. Dave was a proud graduate of Three Rivers High School, Class of 1980. While in high school he played on the football team.

Dave built a career in the tool and die trade, dedicating over two decades to his work at Pfizer. Beyond his career, Dave lived with authenticity. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. At home, he created a space that brought him much joy, particularly in the shooting range he built behind his house. He enjoyed taking his guns to the range.

An adventurer at heart, Dave cherished time spent traveling out west, with a special fondness for Idaho. The open road was another of Dave’s passions, as he rode his motorcycle.

Those who knew Dave describe him as independent and strong-willed; he possessed a quiet demeanor coupled with a marvelous sense of humor that brightened the lives of family and friends alike. He often led by example, with actions speaking louder than words, and his unique blend of humility and good-natured wit left a lasting impression.

Above all, Dave’s greatest source of pride was his family. He was the devoted father of Eric and Matt, his two sons, along with his cherished grandchildren, Izayah and Evelyn, brought him immense joy. Dave’s legacy will live on most profoundly in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who were and remain his pride and joy.

Dave Brooks will be remembered for his steadfast character, his generous spirit, and the love he shared so freely. His presence will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him, especially his sons, Eric and Matt, and his grandchildren.

May his memory be a comfort and inspiration to all who mourn his loss.

Dave is survived by his two sons: Eric Brooks, of Kalamazoo; and Matt Brooks, of Kalamazoo; and two grandchildren: Izayah and Evelyn. He is also survived by his three siblings: Brenda Brooks, of ID; Ted (Dawn) Brooks, of Three Rivers and Hal (Sally) Brooks, of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews.
