In memory of Robert Joe Brown

Robert Joe Brown entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. If Bob could tell you one thing today, it would not be about his career, his accomplishments, or even the family he loved so dearly. He would tell you about Jesus. Bob prayed that those he knew and loved would not simply admire his faith but would come to know the hope he had found. Born in Kalamazoo January 30, 1948, Bob was the son of James Marshall Brown and Mildred Champion Brown and the fourth of ten children. A proud member of the Vicksburg High School class of 1966, he carried with him a lifelong appreciation for family, resilience, and learning. In 1968, he married Ruthann Smink, and together they built a home rich in faith, love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He earned advanced credentials in echocardiography, and abdominal and vascular ultrasound. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Debbie and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruthann; children Angie, Justin, and Jason and their families; brothers and sisters James Brown (Grace) of Vicksburg, Richard Brown (Dianna) of Portage, Diane Brown of Colorado, Rebecca DeVries (Kenneth) of Vicksburg, Lynn Brown (Gloria) of Vicksburg, Norma Jean Julien of Schoolcraft, Mark Brown (Mary) of Florida, and Karen Fall (Mike) of Vicksburg. His family rejoices that the faith which sustained him throughout his life has now become sight. Their prayer is that Bob’s life will continue to point others not only to the faith he modeled, but to the Savior in whom he placed his hope above all else.
