The area’s annual Fall Bike Celebration Weekend returns Friday, September 18, capping the warm-weather riding season and welcoming the autumnal equinox on two wheels.

It will feature bike tours, free kids’ helmet fittings, tune-ups, Farmers’ Market discounts, Historic Village tours and an ice cream social.

  • Sunday Bike Tour (Sept. 20): Featuring 7-plus scenic routes ranging from family-friendly trails to long-distance rides with destinations like Shipshewana, the Langley Covered Bridge, Rawson’s King Mill Park, and the Portage-Vicksburg Trail.
  • Free Youth & Safety Services: Free kids’ bike helmet fittings, safety tune-ups, free regional bicycling maps, bike-motorist safety guides, and 5-foot Safe Passing yard signs while supplies last.
  • Community Festivities: Vicksburg Farmers’ Market discount coupons for cyclists, guided tours of the Vicksburg Historic Village & Museum, the ice cream social, and a showcase of the Vicksburg Quilt Trail paintings.

“Get ready to roll in—the Bike Tour and the entire weekend are gearing up for a fantastic celebration of bicycling in our community,” said Bill Adams, former Vicksburg Village president. “It’s a great reason to get out, explore quiet rural roads at a cyclist’s pace, and champion road safety as the season changes.”
