Bill Gray and David Aubry.

Rotary Club of Vicksburg member Bill Gray was recognized in June as he received the 2026 Rotary Hero Award. Gray, a long time Rotarian, rejoined the Vicksburg club when he returned to Michigan. Bill started in Rotary with the Climax club when he was assigned to a Climax bank branch. When he was transferred to Galesburg, he joined the Galesburg club. Another transfer, another club, this time Vicksburg before moving to Florida. Settling for good back in Vicksburg, Bill rejoined the Rotary Club of Vicksburg in the newly developed Impact Club of Vicksburg Rotary.

Currently retired, Bill works on the scrap recycling team of the Vicksburg club, often taking motors home to break down into more valuable components. He also participates whenever needed, including roadside cleanups and village events. Supporting veterans is another interest of Bill’s as he volunteers Wednesday mornings at the Battle Creek VA hospital and manages the coffee/snack bar. He enjoys listening and talking to the veterans.

Bill embodies the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
