Grace Evelyn Stafinski, of Vicksburg passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born September 26, 1949, in Kalamazoo. She was the daughter of Harm and Mary (Morris) VanDam.
A proud graduate of Loy Norrix High School, Grace laid the foundation for a life filled with dedication, love, and kindness. For three decades, she worked as a lab tech at the Upjohn Company, which became Pfizer. It was while at Upjohn that she met David Stafinski.
On January 30, 1975, she married, David Stafinski. Together, they celebrated over 51 years of marriage, building memories marked by joy and adventure. The couple enjoyed spending time in Florida and Ludington, Michigan.
Family was Grace’s greatest passion, and her heart was fullest when surrounded by her family. She created many treasured traditions, especially during the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were particularly meaningful to her, as they brought the family together to share laughter, delicious meals, and the simple joy of being in each other’s company. Grace was a skilled cook whose table was a gathering place, and she found joy as well in baking and sewing.
Grace adored her two grandchildren, Allyse and Hayden, and delighted in spending time with them. The bond she shared with them was filled with love and warmth, and she took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Those who knew Grace describe her as strong-willed, easygoing, caring, and above all, deeply dedicated to her family. Her legacy of love, steadfastness, and kindness continues in the hearts of her loved ones.
Grace Evelyn Stafinski’s memory will remain a guiding light to all who loved her. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit and relentless devotion to her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Harm and Mary VanDam; and brother George VanDam.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David; son: Dave Stafinski, of Mendon; daughter: Lisa (John) Moden, of Vicksburg; two grandchildren: Allyse Stafinski, of Mendon; and Hayden Moden, of Vicksburg; one sister; and several nieces and a nephew.
Grace has been cremated and per her wishes no services are planned.
