Timothy Allen “Tim” LaPlante, 61, of Sherwood Township, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2026, at his home.
In keeping with Tim’s wishes, he will be cremated and no public services will be held at this time. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Tim was born on June 13, 1965, in Vicksburg, Michigan. He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1983. He owned and operated LaPlante Excavating for several years. He lived in the Sherwood area for many years.
Outside of work, Tim enjoyed tinkering with all things loud and fast, chopping wood and woodworking, watching NASCAR and Goldrush on TV, and his food; especially sweets!
Survivors include: his life partner of over 20 years, Channell Shannon; his son, Jacob LaPlante of Mendon; his stepson, Travis Gleason of Battle Creek; his parents, Linda and John Wyant; his brother, Jeffrey LaPlante of Kalamazoo; and his great friends, Michael and Barb Ashby.
